Students at the school have a great opportunity to have a warm, exhilarating summer of 2025. Teachers Rechelle Goosen and Kelly Tenbrock love to travel and they plan to bring students along with them. Students have the chance to travel to Costa Rica during the summer of 2025. Goosen and Tenbrock do a school sponsored trip like this every other summer, and they’re thrilled about this one. There are so many reasons why Goosen and Tenbrok absolutely love to travel, and maybe some of them will strike your attention. Traveling introduces new ways of learning, it provides hands-on experiences, it gets students off their phones and involved with the world, it complements the academic curriculum, and it provides opportunity to discover one’s life passion. This trip wil include a safety partner that has over 55 years of experience so everybody is guaranteed a fun, safe trip.

This trip doesn’t just include students from this school, many other schools come along as well. These schools include Jension, Grandville, East Kentwood, Byron Center, and many more. While in Costa Rica, students will be traveling all around the country to different places and islands. These destinations are Guanacaste, Arenal region, Sarapiqui, Tortuguero, and San Jose. This trip is nine days long and is filled with many thrilling activities, such as, ziplining, whitewater rafting, kayaking trip, visit a waterfall, snorkeling, and boating. Along with all of these top notch activities, there is also an opportunity for students to explore new foods.

Students will be responsible for a few things during this visit, such as passports, baggage fees, snacks and some meals. Students have the option to pay for the trip in full, bi-weekly, or monthly. The total amount of money it is to pay in full is 4,089 dollars. Students will come home changed. The international education company that is helping with travel, Education First, learning outcomes continue to impact students for the rest of their lives. Students will learn to embrace new challenges, students will expand their world view, they will discover more about themselves, and lastly students will gain necessary skills to make an impact.
