The new E-sports club has taken off and is continuing to advance. The games that they currently play are League of Legends, Rocket League, Valorant, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 3, Mario Kart 8, Madden NFL, NBA2K, and Hearthstone. Almost all of the games are played as a team and the league the team plays in has a system that uses players' account information to track detailed statistics. “It's awesome to see that detailed info and compare our teams to others we may be facing in the playoffs,” said Brady VanMalsen, the coach of the E-Sports club.

They have games once a week at 4 pm and the coaches of both teams make sure that their teams are "checked in" to each game, then they run a "Match Assistant" program that creates a custom lobby and sends out invites to players/spectators. “We're looking to livestream our matches on YouTube/Twitch, so we'll be promoting that through HHS social media,” said VanMalsen.

Due to the school district's strict firewalls, the program has been online-only, with students playing from their homes. This winter, they are building an esports computer lab and it will have 10 very nice computers, decked out with high-quality monitors, headphones, keyboards, mice, etc. It will also have a few larger TV setups for console gaming, which will be useful for the space to host a "Gaming Club" where competitive and noncompetitive gamers can hang out. “I'm beyond grateful that the school invested a significant amount of money into esports,” said VanMalsen. It is now free to participate in and they are always looking for new people to join.
