The Hudsonville Bowling League are teams of boys and girls that have a passion for bowling. They meet Monday through Thursday every week at Hudsonville Lanes. The teams strive to be better bowlers and have fun by the end of the season. They plan to make it to State through a series of tournaments and matches. The most recent tournament was on February 1. Ten schools attended, and both girls and guys A teams placed top 4 by winning 5 of the team games. The top scores for individuals were senior Ferris Eldred with 290 and sophomore Kaeda Roberts with around 170. Eldred won first in boys and gained 10 strikes, while Roberts finished 2nd in girls individual games overall.

Although there were a few bright moments, including a teammate getting a perfect score of 300, the matches ended very closely with Hudsonville girls losing 14-16 against East Kentwood in late January. Even though they had more losses than wins this season so far, the team was still as happy as ever, as they were just having a good time with everyone there.

“For the girls' team, we haven’t had many high scores. And although the girls' team may not win their matches, we have a lot of fun talking to the other teams,” said sophomore Kaitlyn Addis, a bowler in the league. She was passionate about her sport and claimed how the teams acted like a family, always supportive and friendly to each other.

The teams are always looking for more people to join. “I love how this sport is both an individual and team sport. Plus, you have nothing to lose trying out,” said Addis. “Whether you’re a super athlete or just looking for something to do, bowling is a lot of fun and you make lasting memories.”
