Lana Del Ray makes long-awaited comeback on stage

After a long three years, Lana Del Rey returned to the stage starting with the music festival Lollapalooza. Lollapalooza is an annual Chicago rock festival that features hundreds of hip-hop, techno, and alternative rock performers over a four-day period. This past summer’s festival featured a multitude of great artists with Lana Del Rey as one of the headliners. Del Rey is an American singer-songwriter. She has more of an alternative style of music and loves what she does. She is known for her dreamy, melancholic sound. Her music is noted for its cinematic quality, exploration of tragic romance, and glamour.

Del Rey’s real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant. She was very musically talented growing up as she sang in church. As a teenager, she was sent to boarding school for her “deviant” behavior. She struggled with a drinking problem that is now resolved. This delinquency would carry over into her music later in her life. It wasn’t until a couple of years after school that she would start her music career. In 2011, she had her big break with her song “Video Games.” It wasn’t until 2012 that things really started picking up speed.

Today she currently has seven studio albums, with ninety-seven award nominations and thirty-nine wins, with her most recent being Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. It’s been a long time coming for many of Del Rey’s fans to be able to experience her live on stage since her 2020 tour got cut short due to an illness that caused her to lose her voice. Then she wasn’t able to continue touring after COVID struck. Her recent limited tour consisted of her most recent album and she made stops across ten cities – including Austin, Texas, Tampa, Florida, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before her last show in West Virginia in October.  She also just recently performed at the “All Things Go” music festival in September. This music festival takes place in Washington DC and features 32 groundbreaking artists performing across multiple stages at the historic Merriweather Post Pavilion. Del Rey states that she will be donating every dollar from her tour back into each city she performs in. Her fans are anticipating an iconic and memorable experience that will last a lifetime.
