Teachers continue to have a lasting impact on students even after high school. The knowledge, skills, and values instilled by teachers during those formative years carry forward into higher education and beyond. They do not merely impart facts or data. Instead they inspire students to ask questions, explore the world around them, and strive for continuous growth and improvment.

Teachers nurture students’ strengths and help them overcome their weaknesses. They guide students in developing critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities. They encourage students to step out of their comfort zone and face challenges with confidence for the changes for life after high school. Something that we don’t realize as students is, high school is preparing us for that social interaction after high school. It’s not preparing us to know by heart what y=mx+b equals. Or the scientific reasoning to why we don’t float toward the sun. By all means yes, knowing this information will guide us to a college or job in the future. But the bigger picture is that this cultivation of character and resilience plays a significant role in a student's future success.

Teachers play a key role in fostering a sense of community and belonging among students. They create an inclusive and respectful learning environment, promoting empathy, compassion, and mutual respect. These social skills are essential for students’ future personal and professional interactions.
